Indigenous student success story - Angela

AngelaAngela is a 17 year old student in her last year at high school who dreams of being a lawyer in a large commercial firm.

Angela has been accepted to study law at university but needs help to cover her study costs. She also wants a head start in her career by getting some relevant work experience.

Then she heard on the grapevine about the National Indigenous Cadetship Project (NICP) and decided to check it out. NICP helps Indigenous students with a study allowance and paid work placements which complement their studies.

When she starts her degree next year Angela will get an allowance while she studies and be paid to work in a company that gives her legal experience. It’s also likely that she’ll be offered a job with the company when she finishes her studies!

Cadetships are available in a wide range of study disciplines at the diploma, advanced diploma and undergraduate degree level.

If you think a cadetship is for you, check out the National Indigenous Cadetship Project or call 1802 102.
