Job seeker success story - Christine

Christine and FamilyChristine is a mother of two who worked in cafés and restaurants for years before she had kids.

Now that her kids are at school, Christine has decided she wants to go back to work. She has lots of experience in the hospitality industry and raising her family has given her plenty of organisational and time management skills. Now she’s interested in using those skills to work towards becoming a restaurant manager.

Christine’s local CDEP organisation arranged for her to have a job interview with one of the local resorts which runs a Structured Training and Employment Project (STEP).

STEP provides employers with flexible funding tailored to business needs and can include funding for apprenticeships, training and mentoring and other innovative approaches that can lead to lasting employment.

Through the resort’s STEP project, Christine is getting some recognised management training while she learns on the job, giving her the opportunity to put her new knowledge into action!

STEP could help you too. To find out more call 1802 102.
