Progress in Australian Public Service and Parliamentary Service Agreement Making

Collective Workplace Agreements

There are 100 agreements (certified and collective) operating in the APS and Parliamentary Service covering approximately 150,000 employees as at 19 February 2009.

Of these 100 agreements:

  • 7 are agreements made under s.170 LK (pre-Work Choices)
  • 16 are agreements made under s.170 LJ (pre-Work Choices)
  • 1 is an agreement made under s.170 LL (pre-Work Choices)
  • 22 are agreements made under s.327 (post-Work Choices employee collective agreement)
  • 43 are agreements made under s.328 (post-Work Choices union collective agreement)

Australian Workplace Agreements (AWAs)

A DEEWR survey indicated there were 14,948 AWAs operating in the APS and Parliamentary Service, covering around 1,956 Senior Executive Service (SES) and equivalent employees and 12,992 non-SES employees as at 31 December 2008.
