Manfred - CALD job seeker
“ESP woke me up” says Manfred*, a 50 year old from a European background.
Manfred is a self-employed swimming pool technician two days a week and is looking for a part-time job to cover the other days.
Manfred’s consultant encouraged him to complete ESP to give him a wider range of job options to consider.
Manfred acknowledges that he tends to look for jobs in areas he has previously worked.
ESP brought up a new array of jobs Manfred had never considered. ESP also confirmed he had the right employability skills for his preferred area of employment.
“I was surprised that having done it [ESP], I feel more confident and I think it has prepared me for the types of questions I could be asked at interviews.”
Manfred’s consultant is pleased that he “… is out there researching the jobs that have come up in his reports … it has given him more opportunities.”
Manfred’s views on ESP? Overall he is very positive. There are “more job angles he can explore….my confidence is gaining,” he says.
“I think everyone should have a go [at ESP] if they have been unemployed.”
