National Disability Recruitment Coordinator (NDRC)

What is it?

The Australian Government’s National Disability Recruitment Coordinator (NDRC) service aims to increase the employment of people with disability by promoting the benefits of hiring job seekers with disability and working with large employers to develop Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which commit employers to increasing their recruitment of people with disability.  By working with large employers, it aims to create more employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

How does it work?

Once employers make a commitment to working with the NDRC service, NDRC provides initial support services to the employer to develop and maintain practices to employ people with disability as well as training staff about working with people with disability.

The NDRC works with large employers to facilitate the recruitment of people with disability who are registered with Australian Government funded Disability Employment Network members and Vocational Rehabilitation Service providers.

The NDRC disseminates information about the employers’ job vacancies to Disability Employment Network members and vocational Rehabilitation Service providers in the locations of the vacancies.

The NDRC offers a free pre-screening service at the point of recruitment to help ensure that referrals of potential applicants are suitable for identified vacancies.

The NDRC is delivered by Disability Works Australia.
