What are Web Services?

  • a method of automatically uploading vacancies to Australian JobSearch – jobsearch.gov.au from your database eliminating the need to re-key the details
  • Web Services is an industry standard technology that enables data or information to be passed between two different system platforms
  • it is primarily suited to organisations that lodge large volumes of vacancies.

Who can obtain access to Web Services?

Employers, Recruitment companies and Job Placement Organisations can all obtain access to Web Services to lodge their vacancies on JobSearch.

Advantages

  • no double handling or manual posting of jobs to JobSearch
  • reduces the cost and time involved in posting large volumes of vacancies to JobSearch
  • some recruitment application products are currently available that already support Vacancy Web Services.  All that is required is an Account ID as provided by DEEWR.

Cost

Web Services are provided free of charge including:

  • technical specifications and documentation
  • development and implementation support including testing
  • ongoing technical support.

Organisations are responsible for the cost of using their in-house IT department or engaging an external IT provider to do the coding.
