How to apply

To apply to become an NEIS participant, you must contact a NEIS provider, a Job Network member, or Centrelink office in your area.

About NEIS providers

NEIS providers are a network of organisations that are contracted by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) to deliver NEIS throughout Australia.

NEIS providers are local organisations such as Business Enterprise Centres, TAFE Small Business Centres, community organisations and private sector businesses.

NEIS providers can help you put your business idea into practice. Your NEIS provider will maintain regular contact with you to see if you are experiencing any business problems or if they can provide additional support.

Your NEIS provider will also organise your business mentor support—an essential component of NEIS Assistance. Mentors are people with proven business acumen and experience in marketing, finance, accounting or other relevant business skills that enable them to fulfil the responsibilities of being a mentor. Your mentor will give you assistance and business advice during your first year of business operation to maximise the potential success of your business.
