Work for the Dole - Numbers and Dollars
In the financial year 2004-05, the Government has provided $178 million for Work for the Dole to support 64,000 places in the programme and to provide Passport to Employment services and Training Credits to eligible participants.
Passport to Employment services provide training and support in job application and interview skills. Training Credits pay up to $800 for accredited training for work related skills. Participants earn their Training Credit based on the number of hours work experience they have completed.
