DEEWR Leading Indicator of Employment
The new technical Monthly Leading Indicator of Employment anticipates movements in the growth cycle of employment. It does this through the use of a composite index of four weighted series (ANZ Newspaper Advertisements, Dun and Bradstreet Employment Expectations, the Westpac Melbourne Institute Leading Index of Economic Activity and the Consumer Sentiment Index) that have been shown to lead employment over the last 30 years.
