Skill Shortages
Skill Shortages research is undertaken by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) using the Australian Standard Classification of Occupations (ASCO) to define occupations. The research focuses on professions, associate professions and trades, although a number of occupations in the management group are also included in the program.
This section provides lists of skill shortages for each State and Territory. These lists have no status for migration purposes.
The Methodology Paper provides more detailed information about Skill Shortage research, including a list of occupations assessed in 2008-09.
