New Employment Services

In May 2008 the Australian Government announced it would be introducing a new, simpler and more effective national employment services system. This new system will be launched on 1 July 2009, and will replace the existing Job Network, an outdated system that is no longer suited to the Australian labour market.

Employer Brokers

Employer Brokers are a component of the new Employment Services, commencing on 1 July 2009 and ending on 30 June 2012.

As part of its Social Inclusion Agenda, the Australian Government undertook to review employment services, including the Job Network and Disability Employment Network.

The new services will provide opportunities for job seekers to train in areas of skill shortage., There is also a greater emphasis on helping employers find work ready job seekers.
