Disability Employment Network Case Based Funding Model Evaluation Report
The Department is responsible for open employment services (now known as the Disability Employment Network). These services provide job placement, training and on the job support to assist job seekers with disability to gain and maintain employment in the open labour market. A new Case Based Funding model for the delivery of disability employment services was introduced from 1 July 2005 after extensive trialling. The new model replaced the existing ‘Block Grant Funding’ model and aimed to address perceived deficiencies in the previous model.
This evaluation assesses the efficiency and effectiveness of the new Case Based Funding model. Specifically, the report assesses the degree to which the model achieves its aims and also provides recommendations for future enhancements. In doing so, it fulfils the 2003-04 Budget requirement for an evaluation of the new model.
