Draft Code of Practice and Service Guarantees for New Employment Services
Feedback on the draft Code of Practice and Service Guarantees for the new Employment Services 2009-12
The Government is committed to ensuring the delivery of high quality employment services for job seekers and employers. To achieve this, employment service providers will be required to operate in accordance with the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct. A Code of Practice is being developed which sets out the professional and ethical standards that employment service providers commit to in their delivery of services to job seekers and employers under their contractual arrangements with the Australian Government.
Employment service providers will also be required to provide every job seeker ongoing personalised services, which will be culturally sensitive to their circumstances and background, tailored both to their needs and to the job opportunities available, and designed to address the needs of employers. The minimum service job seekers can expect to receive from their employment service provider will be outlined and promoted through the Service Guarantees.
As outlined in the Request for Tender for Employment Services 2009-12 Purchasing Arrangements, any person with an interest in the delivery of employment services in Australia, including job seekers, current employment service providers, potential employment service providers and employers are invited to submit comments on the draft Code of Practice and Service Guarantees.
