Announcement of IEP Tender results

The results of the Request for Tender for two panels for the Indigenous Employment Program 2009-2012 have been announced, with the Government investing more than $750 million dollars until 2012-13 to assist Indigenous job seekers and communities throughout Australia.

The new Indigenous Employment Program panel arrangements start on 1 July 2009 and will deliver a broad range of projects suited to local community circumstances, focusing on achieving the best employment outcomes for Indigenous job seekers.

The Employment Panel will equip employers with the skills, knowledge and expertise necessary to provide sustainable employment opportunities and will prepare Indigenous Australians to take up employment opportunities, stay in jobs and enhance their future employment.

The Economic Development and Business Support Panel will support enterprises through strategies and services for building economic and business development opportunities, provide activities that support the development of viable businesses and assist with financial strategies or services for Indigenous businesses and organisations.
