Collective Workplace Agreements

There are 103 agreements (certified and collective) operating in the APS and Parliamentary Service covering approximately 150,000 employees as at 1 September 2008.

Of these 103 agreements:

  • 11 (10.7%) are agreements made under s.170 LK (pre-Work Choices)
  • 31 (30.1%) are agreements made under s.170 LJ (pre-Work Choices)
  • 1 (1%) is an agreement made under s.170 LL (pre-Work Choices)
  • 17 (16.5%) are agreements made under s.327 (post-Work Choices employee collective agreement)
  • 43 (41.7%) are agreements made under s.328 (post-Work Choices union collective agreement)
  • 102 (99%) are standalone agreements which displace the APS Award.

Australian Workplace Agreements (AWAs)

A DEEWR survey indicated there were 19,546 operating in the APS and Parliamentary Service, covering around 2,448 Senior Executive Service (SES) and equivalent employees and 17,098 non-SES employees as at 30 June 2008.
