Labour Economics Office - South Australia Office
The role of the South Australian Labour Economics Office is to provide advice which will promote the formulation of effective employment policies and programmes which are responsive to current and emerging economic and labour market conditions. This is done by monitoring, researching and analysing the economy and the occupational and labour market impacts of developments and trends.

- Research and analyse occupational trends with particular focus on occupations identified as in actual or emerging shortage.
- Analyse regional economic and labour market conditions.
- Provide ad hoc labour market information to a range of clients (eg. DEWR staff, education and training providers, other government agencies, Job Network Members and members of the public).
- Undertake the monthly Skilled Vacancy Index Survey and the Complete Vacancy Survey.
- Undertake the monthly Internet ICT Vacancy Count.
- Assess employer-sponsored migration applications under the Skilled Migration Programme.
