Southern Tasmanian Statistical Profile
The following statistical profiles have been produced by the Labour Economics Office of the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). They include a wide range of data by Local Government Area, mostly but not exclusively drawn from Australian Bureau of Statistics Census data.
The statistics have been presented in table form and while many of the tables show changes in figures over time, no attempt has been made to interpret or explain the changes in the figures.
Also included are the results of a survey of local councils conducted early in 2008, which provides each council’s perspective on what the main economic features, trends and developments are in their own areas.
Experience has shown that the profiles are a useful source of information to all levels of government, community and business groups, and other organisations who have an interest particularly in their local labour market.
