Role

The role of the Western Australian Labour Economics Office is to monitor, research and analyse the Western Australian labour market.

Functions

  • Research and analyse occupational trends with particular focus on skilled occupations which may be in shortage.
  • Analyse regional economic and labour market conditions.
  • Provide ad hoc labour market information to a range of clients in DEWR, and the Job Network.
  • Undertake the monthly Skilled Vacancy Count.
  • Provide advice to the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) on selected employer-sponsored migration applications.
